Winkler’s T4G Run began in 2006 by a group of passionate runners who wanted to make a difference in the community while doing what they loved. It is held annually on the Saturday morning of Thanksgiving weekend.
Each year, this run has helped the Winkler and District food cupboard meet the needs of the community. In order to continue providing food to those in need, it takes a great amount of organization, volunteers, community support and, of course, runners!
The Thanks for Giving Run offers something for everyone with a half marathon (21.1K), 10K, 5K, and a 1.2K kids fun run! We welcome runners from around Manitoba & abroad at our Winkler site on Oct. 9th, and from around the world (in our virtual events).
Just wondering if I can walk the 5 km race with my 6 week old son in his stroller??

Hi. I am wondering about the kids race. Are parents allowed to run with the kids and if my older 2 kids (8 & 6) are running can I run with my 3 year old in the stroller with them?

Hi Melissa, you are certainly welcome to run with your kids, and a stroller would be just fine. Although registration isn’t mandatory for the kids run, we do encourage you to register them just so we have a better idea of how many kids to expect. There is no fee for the kids race, but we encourage all runners to bring a food donation to support the Winkler & District Food Cupboard. We look forward to seeing you there 🙂

Hi, is the half marathon mainly on pavement or gravel roads? Thanks, Lynne

Hi Lynne, our course does not involve any gravel sections. The majority of the course is on paved multi-use walking/biking paths, with some sections on sidewalks or road (your discretion).
